Mencoba merealisasikan “flash idea” yang muncul ketika beraktivitas di Plurk, saya tergerak untuk “akan” mengusulkan dan mengadakan satu sesi diskusi dengan temen-temen di Yogyakarta beberapa perkembangan mutakhir terkait dengan apa yang saya tahu selama melanjutkan studi di Malaysia ini. Beberapa ide yang muncul adalah tentang :The Future Digital Data, Cloud and Data Grid Technology, and The Future Enterprise Information System”. Isu-isu ini saya dapatkan ketika melakukan “perjalanan” search and re-search ke beberapa perusahaan, institusi riset dan perguruan tinggi di Malaysia dan beberapa tempat lain dan menemukan sesuatu yang mungkin bisa memberikan inspirasi untuk kita bawa ke Indonesia.

Bagi pihak-pihak yang tertarik dalam kegiatan ini, dan ingin mengadakan secara independen atau resmi, silahkan kontak saya via email or ym, plurk, facebook.

Berikut adalah rencana dan overviewnya, semoga ada yang bisa memberi feedback untuk saya finalkan dan coba hubungi pihak-pihak terkait untuk mengadakan. Harapannya acara ini diikuti peserta-peserta yang tertarik dan free tentunya. Kenapa waktunya Jan-Feb 2010, terus terang untuk menge-pas-kan jadwal pulang ke Indonesia.

A. Open, Sharing and Learning: “Future Digital Data”

I. Introduction

Digital data in many areas is continuously being generated and its use is growing. The growth of this data, along with new compliance regulations such as OAIS, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and federal securities laws and regulations that require long-term viability of data, have opened the opportunities for new emerging research area. Data has always been fundamental and very important to many areas and it has become critical to more disciplines and especially in inter-disciplinary projects and grown substantially in scale, volume and complexity.

II. Objectives & Overviews

The Importance of Long Term Access and Use of Data & Compliance with the Standards

This section will explain briefly about the changing of the data landscape, the standard requirements, and the major problem of digital data creation, use and access. It will highlight the industry needs on long term access and use of data and the existing standards that influencing the business, scientific and general data.

eResearch, Semantic Computing and The Cloud

This section will discuss the data tidal wave, moving upstream, integration into existing tools/ workflows, enabling semantic computing, provision of services in data analysis, collaboration and preservation-provenance issues, the potential for cloud services, and the role of software.

Research Challenges

This section will discuss the current challenges in future digital data and life by giving a sample project that has being running in several countries.

B. Open, Sharing and Learning: “The Future of Enterprise Information System”

I. Introduction

The Enterprise facing the massive and “destructive-competitive” in emerging new business services to enhance profit and business expansion. The technology is playing the big issues and major concern in the business processes. The current system needs “the jump-ing” strategy to follow the customer needs, competitiveness, and comply with the standards. In the future digital data, enterprise will change from customer oriented to drive the customer with efficient and effective’s business channels. The enterprise information system such as ERP, CRM, SRM, HR, and other will merge into “new-future enterprise information system” based on technology penetration.

II. Objectives & Overviews

The Landscape of Business and IT in Enterprise

This section will explain briefly about weakness of traditional enterprise system, the future demand in enterprise, the good practices and learning from major enterprise, and the technology offering in business experiences.

The Service Oriented Architecture for Business

This section will discuss the need of the new architectures of business in enterprise, the benefits, the blueprint of success using the architectures, Business analyses and Modeling tools. The section will discuss the sample in the banking industry implementation of this architecture as best practices. .

In the action

This section will discuss the current challenges for CIO, engineer, system analyst,  accountant in playing major roles in the new architectures of business. The challenges are in the development of system and architectures, maintaining and monitoring the business, and embedded audit in business process system.
